Despite a construction season threatened by a very rainy summer of 2013 and a very cold winter, Carolina Senior Living came in on-time and under budget, proving that the HUD Section 202 program was one of the most efficient and effective senior housing programs available. It is also the last 202 project in North Carolina to be built.
In addition to 30 one-bedroom apartments, Carolina Senior Living boasts an array of amenities for its residents: a fitness room, a library, an on-site property manager, an on-site services coordinator, a community room, a resident garden area, a double porch reminiscent of Charleston porches and a quiet and shady screened-in porch.
Carolina Senior Living is a green building certified under the EarthCraft multifamily program for southeastern climates. Many thanks to the entire development team for another successful affordable senior housing project: Garanco, Inc., Rowhouse Architects, and Sarver Housing Group, Inc.
